Asthma, Allergy & Immunology
Gwinnett Clinic provides asthma, allergy, & immunology care and services for our patients.
Dr. Byol Shin, DO is a board-certified allergy, asthma and immunology physician, also known as an “allergist”, “allergy doctor” or “immunologist”.
As an allergist, Dr. Shin specializes in certain conditions that affect your immune system. Your immune system is made up of special cells, organs and tissues that fight off disease.
Types of immune system disorders an allergist treats include:
- Allergies and allergic disorders. Caused by your immune system overreacting to something you eat, breathe in or touch.
- Asthma. Inflammation of the airways in your lungs. When you have an asthma attack, it is usually triggered by the environment around you.
- Primary immunodeficiency disorders. There are over 200 primary immunodeficiency genetic disorders which prevent your immune system from functioning properly.
Dr. Shin sees patients Monday – Saturday. Appointments are required. Most appointments can be made on the same day or within 1-2 days. Please call for an appointment.
