Family Medicine Physicians

Amongst primary care physicians, family medicine physicians are the only specialists qualified to treat most ailments and provide comprehensive health care for people through all stages of life. Unlike internal medicine physicians, who typically treat adults 18 years of age and older, Gwinnett Clinic family medicine physicians provide primary care for adults and adolescents.

Family medicine physicians are highly educated and experienced in providing physical exams and wellness exams, routine checkups, diagnosis, treatment for common illnesses, sick care, immunization and screening tests, treatment for chronic illnesses, health risk assessments, treatment options and plans, personalized recommendations on maintaining a healthy lifestyle,  and disease management – with a focus on prevention and wellness. They also help coordinate your care with specialists as needed and help you to navigate our complex health care system.

Internal Medicine Physicians

Internal medicine physicians (aka “internists”) are primary care physicians who treat adult patients. They are adept at understanding how all the human body’s systems work together and are specially trained to solve diagnostic problems, manage severe long-term illnesses, and help patients with multiple, complex chronic conditions.

Internists are highly educated and experienced in providing physical exams and wellness exams, routine checkups, diagnosis, treatment for common illnesses, sick care, immunization and screening tests, treatment for chronic illnesses, health risk assessments, treatment options and plans, personalized recommendations on maintaining a healthy lifestyle,  and disease management – with a focus on prevention and wellness. They also help coordinate your care with specialists as needed and help you to navigate our complex health care system.

They develop life-long relationships with their patients and make recommendations which are based on each patient’s unique situation.

We welcome new adult and adolescent primary care patients at each of our 17 locations.

Gwinnett Clinic accepts most major health insurance plans, traditional Medicare and private pay patients.
